Apple introducing iPhone 4.0 and iOS 4

On Monday 7th June, Steve Jobs introduced iPhone’s fourth edition and its operating system iOs4 at WWDC 2010 (Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference) in San Francisco, California.


New features introduced in iPhone 4.0 and updated iOS4

There are more then 100 new features coming up with this new version and few noticeable ones are listed below:

  • FaceTime (Video Calling)
  • Retina Display – 960X640 resolution in 3.5 inch screen
  • Multitasking – Use multiple apps at the same time
  • HD Video Recording – Iphone 4 allows you to record HD videos
  • Folders – Organize apps into folders with drag-and-drop
  • Even Better Mail
  • iBooks
  • Create Playlists
  • 9.5x Digital Zoom
  • Tap to Focus Video
  • Spell Checking
  • Wireless Keyboard Support
  • Home Screen Wallpaper
  • Faces and Places in Photos

Good part is that iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users can also upgrade their OS to iPhone OS4 and can enjoy new updated software. Yes, all of the above features won’t be compatible to 3G and 3GS users, but most of them can be accessed.

After exploring all these new exciting features in iPhone technology, we are seeing lots of possibilities in iPhone Native and iPhone web application development, now more and more real time collaboration apps, Social apps, E-learning and Streaming applications can be developed.
