In last week we got a chance to explore real estate domain and new generation needs in this domain. We found that great level of revolution in real estate industry portals. , it’s the Web 2.0 innovators that are leading the revolution. Social engagement is changing the real estate industry on the internet, Web 2.0 compatible real estate’s portals now growing rapidly.

As per our study so far below web 2.0 kinds of features can do a significance changes in the success of real estate portal.
· Map Integration – The new Web 2.0 Property Portals are incorporating a whole bunch of tricks using API functions (Application Protocol Interfaces) – to simply translate, Google offers its mapping technology free for them to link all kinds of other free data to. Not only can you easily locate the properties from a postcode search and visually see them on a map, you can also easily show where the nearest schools, pubs, parks, shops and pretty well anything that has a postcode within any given area are too. In this way, the browser gains a lot of information on a particular area, very quickly.
·Media Support – Visual presence of the information is the great way to convey your message. Allow home owner to upload as much as possible photo and video related to property. Homeowner will love to see them rather reading a bunch of text messages.
· Wiki – Wiki style portal with up to date real estate listings and market information. It I s full of articles for all areas of real estate. Take benefits of free original content that’s is constantly fresh and let your user enjoy of getting benefit from collectively creating this content.
· Tagging, Rating and commenting – Tagging speed up the search and gives the browser a more visually inspired search experience. Rating and commenting will allow homebuyer to share the experience with the property or property owner and can play significant role for taking final decision for the property.
· Blogging and Ask to Expert – It is where consumers can engage with other consumers and real estate professionals (specialize in that area) on a wide variety of real estate topics. This type of engagement is popular in real estate because it gives the consumer the ability to gather information while keeping a comfortable level of secrecy. For most home buyers secrecy is extremely important in the early stages of real estate search. This once again is another example of social engagement that is extremely popular.
·RSS Feed – Keep updated your user with happening of website, allow them to take the Feed for all of their like Feed for their saved searches, Blog Feed and Particular property feed which keeps updated about all happening with the property (such as new media upload, changes in availability / price etc..)

Yes of course the number of properties listed on the web portal is still very important factor. If buyers are not getting enough properties listed with the website then all above features will not provide much result on the portal.
